Today, Thursday, July 18, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. the Torrance Historical Society is hosting their 9th annual 1950s-style family summer event.  There will be lots of fun with hula hoop contests, a cake walk, bubble gum blowing contest and a live yo-yo demonstration. There will also be Classic cars, burgers from IN-N-OUT, and entertainment by the South Bay Stummers and our own Torr-elles. Bring the family and relive the 50's with a walk through the Torrance Historical Society Museum. Post Avenue will be blocked off from Cravens to Sartori. Check it Out (PDF)...

"Evening Under the Stars" celebrates the best in South Bay cuisine while raising funds for nonprofit Torrance Memorial Medical Center.


Approximately 80 varietals of wine will be served and professional sommeliers from Disney Grand Californian Hotel's Napa Rose restaurant will be on hand to educate guests about wine.

Funds raised from the event will benefit Torrance Memorial Medical Center. This marks the seventh consecutive year that Honda has chosen Torrance Memorial as the event's beneficiary. All tickets MUST be purchased before the event, there will be no tickets at the door. Learn More...

MILITARY RECOGNITION PROGRAM 

NOW TAKING APPLICATIONS

The Hometown Heroes Military Banner Recognition Program recognizes our community's men and women in uniform who are currently serving in the Armed Forces, veterans who have served in the past, or veterans of the past who are now deceased. Street banners will be installed honoring individuals, and after being displayed for a minimum of 3 months will be presented to the family. In addition, the City Council will present a proclamation, acknowledging the individual's service to the City and the Nation.
