VOLUME 3  |  ISSUE 26

July 4 - July 10, 2013

Unfortunately in 2011, because of the down turned economy, the City of Torrance discontinued the Old Fashion Fourth of July Celebration. Torrance continues to face the challenges of balancing its budget this year and beyond.  While Torrance will not host the Independence Day celebration, Wilson Park and all other City parks will continue to remain open during their regular hours of operation between 6 a.m. and 10 p.m. for the public's use. Facilities in the park will be closed for the holiday. In anticipation of the holiday, the City of Torrance is also reminding everyone that within the City of Torrance, it is against the law to possess, store, offer for sale, expose for sale, sell at retail, give, furnish, use, or explode any fireworks, including those fireworks defined in the California Health and Safety Code as safe and sane fireworks.

The City wishes everyone a safe and enjoyable Independence Day Celebration. For questions, or more information, please contact the Community Services Department at (310) 618-2930.

REMINDER:

ALL FIREWORKS ARE ILLEGAL IN TORRANCE
