TORRANCE LIBRARY VIDEO CHALLENGE

Torrance Public Library presents a special video challenge for Library users. Tell why the Torrance Library is important to you for your educational, recreational, business,and cultural needs via a video between 3 and 7 minutes long and get the chance to win an award, have your film featured on Torrance CitiCABLE, and the Torrance Public Library Website. Submissions will be judged by a panel of Torrance citizens; with prizes awarded for Youth, grades 8 and under, Teen  (grades 9 through 12), and Adult (age 18 and over). The Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) and the Torrance Air Fair Assocation are offering historic flight experiences in its beautifully restored B-17G Flying Fortress "Aluminum Overcast"; one of only 14 Fortress' still flying. The B-17 was the heavy bomber vital to winning World War II, and this rare bird is headed for Torrance airport. Take a trip back in time and feel the might of this magnificent flying machine, just as those young men did more than 70 years ago. You can experience a flight, or simply take a walk-through tour. Pre-booked Flights are $409 per person for EAA Members and $449 per person for non-members. Walk-up Prices are $435 for EAA Members and $475 for non-members. The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Program educates community members about disaster preparedness for hazards that may impact their area and trains them in basic disaster response skills.
