Food-For-Fines
|
November is Food for Fines & Fun with Fines month at the Wautoma Public Library. For every unexpired, non-perishable food item brought into the library, $2 will be forgiven from overdue fines. Another option to get your fines waived is where the fun comes in: write out a 'Big Fish Tale' that explains why your items were overdue. For each tall tale, either written or captured on video, the library will forgive $5 from your overdue bills. Tales will be shared on Facebook but of course we will keep them anonymous for privacy (videos will be up to the participant if they want to be kept anonymous with face blurring). If a tale is extra creative another $5 will be waived from fines at the librarian's discretion. The fee for replacing a lost library card will also be waived by Food for Fines/Fun with Fines, as long as personal picture identification (like a driver's license) is shown. However, charges for lost or damaged items cannot be cleared by this method. All donated food will go to the Waushara County Food Pantry.
