  Get acquainted with events and services the Winneconne Public Library offers by reading the enclosed newsletter!
 

 
The Winneconne Public Library will be celebrating its 100th Birthday on Tuesday, the 10th of September. The community is warmly invited to come visit the library from 10 a.m.-4 p.m., for birthday cake and for drawings/giveaways throughout the day (you must be present to win).

This day also marks the kick-off of Preschool Storytime with Amanda, at 10:00 a.m. She will be having a birthday party-themed event for the kids, with games, stories, crafts & fun. Preschool Storytimes will continue at 10:00 a.m., each Tuesday, until the 10th of December.

 


 
Paws for Reading
Fall Session to Start the 10th of September


We have a wonderful roster of Certified Therapy Dogs and handlers ready for students to come read to the dogs.  We have a West Highland Terrier named Lilly, a  Great Pyrenees named Serena & a Goldendoodle named Maggie, so if you are interested in scheduling a fifteen-minute reading session for your child, please call the library.

Mondays:  9/10, 10/14, 11/11, 3:00-4:00 p.m.
Saturdays:  9/28, 10/26, 11/23, 10-11:00 a.m.

Preschool Storytime with Amanda -
Kickoff on the 10th of September

 

The 10th of September marks the kick-off of Preschool Storytime with Amanda, at 10:00 a.m. She will be having a birthday party-themed event for the kids, with games, stories, crafts & fun. Preschool Storytimes are for children ages 3-5 and offer read-alouds, songs, fingerplays, interactive play as well as crafts. Storytimes will run from September 10 through December 10.



Serving Coffee Again
 
wcpl berres bros Starting on September 10, the library will again serve Berres Brothers Coffee! We have some delicious fall flavors lined up, including Happy Birthday, to help us celebrate our 100th Anniversary, and also Cream Puff! Come to the library to share a cup while you spend time chatting with a friend, or warming up with a good book in hand. The coffee is free, but donations are gratefully accepted.

Early Release Movie - Mon., September 10th

 

We will continue to offer an after-school movie at 1:00 p.m., on Early Release Days, which normally fall on the second Monday of each month.  September's Early Release move will be Oz -The Great & Powerful, Rated PG.  Visit our website to see our movie policy.  Popcorn is provided by the Friends of the Winneconne Public Library.  Bring your own pillow and a covered drink.

Free Blood Pressure Screening



Every third Monday of the month, there will be a Free Blood Pressure Screening offered from 1-3pm  here at the Winneconne Public Library.  No appointment necessary.

Elder Benefit Help Offered:

Did you know that Winnebago County has Elder Benefit Specialists to help people 60 and over with a variety of issues without charging a fee for their services?  

 

 Julie Nicks is an Elder Benefit Specialist with the Aging and Disability Resource Center of Winnebago County based out of Neenah. She will be here at the library to provide information regarding public benefit programs and advocate, represent or negotiate matters for elders concerning public benefits. She can help senior citizens with a wide variety of concerns including  Medicare, Senior Care, Social Security, Foodshare or Medicaid.  

 

Julie will be available in the Community Meeting Room on the 2nd Tuesday of each month from 10:30 until 12:00.
