Cal culating library value Library users value the services and resources provided by the public library, but have you thought about how much those services are actually worth? The cost of the books, movies and music you check out, of using Internet computers or Wi-Fi, or of securing a tough-to-find item that is available via Interlibrary Loan would be far higher if you had to pay out-of-pocket for these materials and services. Try the library value calculator to see the approximate value of your personal library use and the return on investment for the tax dollars you spend on libraries. Support your library by signing up to receive Speak Up for Your Library e-mails.

Looking for LEGOS
Kids love LEGOS! So the library is starting our own LEGO Club this fall and we need your help to make it a success. The Friends of the Library have g enerously donated funds for a "starter batch" of LEGOS, but we're going to need more to "build" our club. If you have new or used LEGO or DUPLO building blocks that you don't use any more, consider donating them to the library. We need basic blocks, windows and doors, wheels and green building plates. (Please note: We don't need minifigures, specialized pieces for specific building sets or other blocks that aren't compatible with LEGO or DUPLO.) Call 236-5208 if you're interested in donating.

OPL is partnering with the Community Blood Center to hold a blood drive on Thurs., Aug. 1, from 9 a.m. to noon in the library parking lot.
