Washington Youth Tour 2017

Now Accepting Applications for 2017
 
The Youth Tour will take place June 8-15, 2017.  Applications packets are due by 5:00 p.m. Friday, February 10, 2017.
The Washington Youth Tour is a top-notch tour of our nation's capital that includes meetings with state and national leaders and leadership training, as well as visiting all the major sights.  The students meet and discuss their views with students from other states while learning about history, government, and careers in public service.

Attention MOWR Students

There is a New EOC State Board Ruling which exempts MOWR (Move On When Ready) students from taking associated EOC (End of Course) tests.

Thanksgiving break is a great opportunity to complete this required task for ALL students planning to attend a technical, two-year or four-year college. AP Exams News
Students may start making payments for their AP exams beginning November 7th.  The coast of each exam is $94. 
The fee schedule is:
Nov. 7
Dec. 5
Jan. 9
Feb. 6
Mar. 6              
This will allow student to make 5 low payments (4 low payments of $20.00+ 5th payment of $14.00).  Parents can also pay for AP exams online via their MySchoolBucks account.  All major credit cards are accepted and there will be an additional $3 charge. Please see Ms Burston if you have any questions.  Students may register through their AP teacher or by clicking here.

HOSA News

HOSA Members worked hard to put together a Christmas Parade Float. The theme was Miracle on Main Street. HOSA revolved their idea around hoping miracles for cancer patients.

Key Club News

Key Club members donated 84 Christmas stockings to the Salvation Army in Macon.  All stockings will go to Central Georgia families in need during the Christmas season.

Tri-M music honor students have been visiting local elderly care homes to spread some Christmas cheer through music.

Basketball News

The Varsity boys basketball team had some big wins this past weekend. Friday, they defeated Howard 78-40 and the defeated Lamar 88-54.

The JV boys also had impressive wins over Howard 75-40 and Lamar 87-51.

The 9th grade boys won their first game of the season over Jones County 74-71.

The JV and varsity boys will be back in action Saturday when Jackson comes to visit.
Wrestling News
Last week our Wrestling went to Upson-Lee for a tri-meet against Upson-Lee and Eagles Landing Christian Academy.  We won our first match against ELCA and fell to Upson-Lee finishing the night 1-1.  MP Wrestling placed 3rd at the Hurricane Duals Tournament this past weekend.  We also had individual medal winners: at 113 weight class, Hayleigh Blair; at 132 weight class, Hunter Bass; at 138 weight class, Stanley Lowe; and at 145 weight class, Brycen Young.

Media Center Offers Extended Hours

Both Campuses - Open Daily until 3:45.

Freshman Campus Media Center - Open Tuesdays until 4:00

Main Campus Media Center - Open Thursdays until 4:30

Students who wish to take advantage of the extended time 
must arrive to the Media Center after the dismissal bell rings.
