Junior News
You may pick up your class ring during lunch Friday, August 12th in the Commons Area.  Final payments may be made with cash or money order in the exact amount at lunch on the 12th, or they may be paid with your credit or debit card online at www.jostens.com. You may also pay by phone to the Jostens office by 12 noon on Thursday, August 11th.  Don't miss out, pick up your class ring on Friday, August 12th.

FFA News
The Mary Persons FFA Officer team traveled to Camp John Hope for the annual officer retreat on August 5th-7th. While there, the officers and advisers participated in team bonding activities, such as Four Square. The officers were also hard at work planning the yearly FFA activities, learning the opening ceremony, and setting up the chapter budget. The Mary Persons FFA officer team includes President Kayley Dale, Vice President Emsley Smith, Secretary Elizabeth Smith, Treasurer Audrey Barr, Reporter Bobby Jones, Sentinel Marshall Fields, Chaplain Cassie Rodgers, Parliamentarian Courtney Stovall, Historian Austin Wiggins, and Student Adviser Brice Turner. The Chapter Advisers are Bill Waldrep and Ryan Smith.
TSA News
TSA (Technology Student Association) will host and open house and meet and greet for all students who are interested or want to learn more.  It will take place August 10th, after school.  Drop by anytime from 3-6:30 pm

If anyone is interested in being a part of the Bulldog Cross Country Team for the 2016 season please see Coach Herr (Main Campus) or Coach McElhaney (Freshman Campus).  You will need a current physical to participate.  Practice is held Monday through Friday from  3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. beginning at the track.

Do YOU Have Your Tickets Yet??
Mary Persons Bulldogs open the season with a special game against Houston County at the 2016 Corky Kell Classic at Mercer University Five Star Stadium on Thursday, August 18 at 5:30 p.m. Tickets are available at local banks, MP main office, and any Touchdown Club member. 

The Corky Kell Classic kicks off the Georgia high school season with a series of games also broadcast live on Fox Sports South and streamed live on Fox Sports Go.  Launched in 1992, the MetroPCS Corky Kell Classic is a Georgia high school football event and was the first event ever to be held at the Georgia Dome. The Classic kicks off the highly competitive high school football season in Georgia every August with partial proceeds benefiting the Kell Foundation to fund scholarships. Throughout the years, the games have included top talent in both Georgia and across the nation.

Softball News
The Lady Bulldogs lost in the season opener against Union Grove. The Bulldogs went ahead early in the game then fell short. Allyssah Mullis went 2-4 with a 2 run homer and Destiny Middleton went 1-3 with 2 RBIs. The Mary Persons softball team is 0-1 in the season. The next game is on Wednesday at GMC at 5:30
