MP Boys Soccer Continues Playoff Push
The Mary Persons Boys Soccer team hits the road for a pair of important region contests this week. The Bulldogs (9-2-1) travel to West Laurens on Thursday (7:30) and Veterans on Friday (7:00). Friday's contest could well determine the region title, as the Warhawks entered this week in first place while MP is neck-and-neck with Upson-Lee in a battle for second. The Bulldogs have won three straight games, outscoring their opponents by a combined 16-4 during that stretch. Home games against Perry next Tuesday and Howard on Friday (Senior Night) will wrap up the regular season for MP. The GHSA state playoffs are slated to begin on April 26.
JV Boys Finish 2016 Season The JV Boys soccer team finished their season with a 7-5 record and a second place finish in the Southern Crescent JV League. The boys fought hard in the Championship match against Upson Lee in Thomaston on 4/2. This is the JV Boys' 5th straight winning season and an improvement on their 3rd place finish last year. Thank you to all those who supported them this season at home and on the road.
