Math Department Selling Calculators
The MPHS Math Department will be taking orders for the TI-84+ graphing calculator. This will be the only calculator sold by the Math Department this year. We encourage you to make this investment as this calculator can be used in ALL MPHS math classes. Please see the attached letter for more details. TOTAL CALCULATOR COST IS $110. 
The last day for placing orders is September 4th.
MP will be offering one session of credit recovery this semester.  The session will be September 21, 2015 through November 12, 2015. Classes are scheduled Monday-Thursday from 3:15 - 5:15 and will be held in Rm 228. Students will be able to earn a unit and must pay $50 for the course. Students must complete all course work with a 70% or better in the assigned session in order to receive credit.  Full payment is due at the time of registration. Please pick up and return registration forms in the Graduation Coach office.  Mrs. McLuen will be out on maternity leave, her Sub, Mrs. Burdette, will be handling credit recovery needs.  Please contact Mrs. Burdette or your child's counselor if you have specific questions.

SAT/ACT Test Dates & Waivers
If your child is planning on attending a four year college, they must take the SAT or ACT and obtain a qualifying score. Also, if your child is interested in dual enrollment at a four-year college, they must have a qualifying score. Luckily, MPHS is a testing site for BOTH tests. Also, students at MPHS can receive a waiver for either test by either receiving free or reduced lunch or by joining TRIO. Students can see their counselor or Mrs. Miller for TRIO applications or fee waivers. Sophomores are NOT eligible for fee waivers.

Click here for SAT Registration. You must have a waiver code or credit/debit card to register. Cost without a waiver is $54.50 with essay (all year) or $43 for the new SAT beginning in March.

Click here for ACT Registration. You must have a waiver code or credit/debit card to register. Cost without a waiver is $39.50 (no writing) or $56.50 with writing.

Students who need a fee waiver will need to see their counselor.  Juniors and Seniors are the only students eligible for waivers. 

FVSU will host several FREE SAT/ACT workshops on their Warner Robins Campus. A free test prep book and materials are provided. Click here for the flyer and registration information. 

The PSAT will be given on Wednesday, October 14, 2015.  
All sophomores will be taking the exam free of charge.  All juniors can take this exam for $15. Juniors are the only students who can compete for the National Merit Scholarship by taking the PSAT. Please register for the PSAT in the counselor's office.

ASVAB Test Date
November 19, 2015
Students interested in the military must take the ASVAB exam given at MPHS on November 19. Registration opportunities will be forthcoming closer to the test date.

information session held in Macon, Georgia at Stratford Academy.  This is a great opportunity to learn more about admission processes and requirements, financial aid/scholarships, and more

On Thursday, September 3rd at 6:00 p.m.  in the cafeteria at Mary Persons High School, we will be having a parent trip information meeting for anyone wishing to go on our Fine Arts Department Spring Break trip to Washington DC and New York City. Ben Amerson, owner of Five Star Travels will be here to shed light on the trip details and payment information. Please plan to come to this informative session if you would like your child to take part in the extraordinary opportunity, or if you wish to chaperone the trip.

Would you like to apply to join Best Buddies for the 15-16 school year? If so, you need to log in to, select membership application, select high school, then complete all required information. The deadline to apply and pay your $20 dues (which includes a Crimson Comfort Colors t-shirt) is September 21st.

MP Gold Rush

The annual community pep rally, known as Gold Rush, was held Thursday, August 27 at 7:00 p.m. Over 100 'Junior Cheerdawgs' performed cheers and chants with the Mary Persons High School Varsity Cheerleaders! All Bulldog fans got an opportunity to meet their favorite MP football players, cheerleaders, and senior band members at the end of the event.
Cross Country News
The Battle of Atlanta meet was very competitive, consisting of the top runners in the state of Georgia.  Varsity Boys placed 30th out of 51 teams.  Varsity Girls placed 40th out of 44 teams.  William Spence placed 18th in the JV race, being the only team member to receive a medal this past weekend.  The next meet will be held Tuesday, September 8th at the Warner Robins Invitatonal.
Football News
MP Bulldogs defeated Jackson 28-21 in double overtime. In front of a capacity crowd, the Bulldogs were able to score in the 2nd overtime to seal the victory.  From the players to the fans to the MP staff and support personnel, everyone had a hand in winning this rivalry game. The Bulldogs face Washington Co. this week.  Game time is 7:30 at Dan Pitts Stadium.

Softball News
MP beat Howard 11-0. Megan Bell pitched a 1 hitter with 6 strikeouts. Shelby Sims went 3-4 and Jordan Rozier hit a home run. The bulldogs are now 2-0 in the region.

JV beat Upson Lee 4-2. Tiella Banks went 2-2 at the plate and pitched the whole game. Faith Rozier and Shermayah Webb went 1-2. 

Varsity Bulldogs beat Upson Lee 3-0. Shelby Sims hit a 2 run homer in the 5th inning. Megan Bell pitched the entire game with 5 strikeouts and only allowing 2 hits. The Bulldogs are now 3-0 in the region and 3-5 in the season.
