SAT/ACT Test Dates & Waivers
If your child is planning on attending a four year college, they must take the SAT or ACT and obtain a qualifying score. Also, if your child is interested in dual enrollment at a four-year college, they must have a qualifying score. Luckily, MPHS is a testing site for BOTH tests. Also, students at MPHS can receive a waiver for either test by either receiving free or reduced lunch or by joining TRIO. Students can see their counselor or Mrs. Miller for TRIO applications or fee waivers. Sophomores are NOT eligible for fee waivers.
Click here for SAT Registration. You must have a waiver code or credit/debit card to register. Cost without a waiver is $54.50 with essay (all year) or $43 for the new SAT beginning in March.
Click here for ACT Registration. You must have a waiver code or credit/debit card to register. Cost without a waiver is $39.50 (no writing) or $56.50 with writing.
Students who need a fee waiver will need to see their counselor. Juniors and Seniors are the only students eligible for waivers.
The PSAT will be given on Wednesday, October 14, 2015.
All sophomores will be taking the exam free of charge. All juniors can take this exam for $15. Juniors are the only students who can compete for the National Merit Scholarship by taking the PSAT. Please register for the PSAT in the counselor's office.

TSA News TSA is a national organization that is doing some new and exciting things here at Mary Persons! Did you know that by being a member of the Technology Student Association, you can compete in events like music production, fashion design, digital video production, video game design and so many others?
Learn more about TSA TONIGHT in the MP Tech Lab. Drop in anytime between 3:30 and 5:30 to talk with Mrs. Barfield.
Perhaps the most important benefit of TSA membership is the inspiration and enthusiasm that students gain from receiving recognition for applying their knowledge. Demonstrating skills in a forum beyond school walls motivates students, especially when there is a large, like-minded audience of peers who support them. Other benefits include:
- Enhance technological literacy and leadership skills
- Work on complex activities from start to finish
- Compete on local, state and national levels
- Develop leadership skills
- Meet and work with business and industry leaders
- Attend organized meetings
- Network with students and teachers with similar interests from all over the United States
- Contribute time and effort to a national service project
- Receive national membership services, including the online TSA newsletter, School Scene
- Receive recognition through TSA's honor society, scholarships and achievement programs
- Have a voice in a national organization that is helping to shape the future of technology education
