Math Department Selling Calculators
The MPHS Math Department will be taking orders for the TI-84+ graphing calculator. This will be the only calculator sold by the Math Department this year. We encourage you to make this investment as this calculator can be used in ALL MPHS math classes. Please see the attached letter for more details. TOTAL CALCULATOR COST IS $110.
PASS
Algebra I teachers hosted a Preliminary Algebra Summer Session or PASS on July 28th, July 29th, and July 30th. The goal of PASS is to have students more prepared for the first day of 9th grade, and to have them thrive throughout the semester in their 9th grade Algebra I. Students participated in hands-on experiences and discovery opportunities such as Proportions with Measurements of Objects using Shadows, Problem Solving Strategies with Algebra puzzles, and Battleship with Coordinate Grids.  Students had the opportunity to work with each Algebra teacher.
Ms. Little Inducted as President-Elect
 
Our very own, Susan Little, was inducted as President-Elect of 
the Georgia Business Education Association at the Georgia Association 
of Career and Technical Educators' Conference. 
The conference was held July 11-15 in Atlanta, GA.
Ms. Childs Awarded "Top Gun" Award
Susan Childs was awarded the "Top Gun" Award for being in the top 20 Work-Based Learning Coordinators in the state of Georgia.  She was recognized in a special ceremony at the Georgia Association of Career and Technical Educators' Conference in July.

Softball News
JV Dogs tied to Houston County. Lori Smith pitched the entire game with 6 strike outs. Kennedy Finch went 1-1 and Faith Ann Rozier went 1-2. 

The Varsity Bulldogs lost to Houston County 2-7. Allyssah Mullis went 2-3 at the plate. Shelby Sims and Emsley Smith both hit a single, and Sydney Thompson with a double. The Bulldogs are now 0-1 in the season.
