Construction Students Build Bridge
for BOE Transportation Department
As a gesture of gratitude to the Transportation Department the 3rd Year Carpentry I class recently built a foot bridge between the Transportation Garage and the Transportation Office. This will keep the department personnel from having to walk through the mud and water that accumulates after every rain.
Thanks to Mr. Courson, Ms. Sullivan, Ms. Nelson and all of the drivers who are so helpful in getting us to our different project locations.

MP Teacher Spotlight
This week's spotlight is on Ms. Ashley McIntosh. Ms. McJntosh graduated from Columbus State University with her Bachelors of Arts in Biology, and a minor in Psychology. She has taught for 2 years. Her inspiration for becoming a teacher was her desire to provide students with a fun/engaging high school experience in science class. When asked what she likes best about her job, she said "My students, and watching them succeed in my class and having them visit from past years." Asked what her favorite memories from high school years were, she said "participating in various different events, both academically and sports related." She worked as a legal assistant while going to school.
Ms. McIntosh's hobbies include watching movies, golfing, crafts, taking pictures, and traveling. Interesting places that she has traveled include Puerto Rico, St. Thomas, The Bahamas, Cozumel, and Grand Turk. She would like to travel to New York, Alaska, and Germany (just to name a few). Her favorite books include Pride and Prejudice, Harry Potter, and books by Nicholas Sparks. Her favorite sports are Auburn University Football, and Atlanta Braves Baseball. Her favorite role model is Pam Simpson, a high school teacher and family friend. Items on her "bucket list" include traveling to Germany, seeing the Northern Lights, and furthering her own education.

Josh Hampton has signed a letter of intent to play soccer with Middle Georgia State College. Josh is pictured here with his mom, Jennifer Hampton. Also pictured are Coach Brian Nelson (Athletic Director), Coach Lamon McElhaney (Assistant Varsity Soccer Coach), Coach Allen Luton (Head Varsity Soccer Coach), and Coach Elvar Gudjonsson (Head Soccer Coach for Middle Georgia State). Boys Varsity Soccer ends season in state playoffs.
The Boys Varsity Soccer team dropped a heartbreaker 1-0 to No. 5. NW Whitfield last week in the Sweet 16 of the GHSA Class AAAA State Playoffs. The Bulldogs (15-5) nearly scored in the first half on an early break down the left side by Josh Hampton and then later when Ryan Shepard hit the crossbar on an angled shot from the wing. Had both scoring chances gone in the Dogs would have taken a 2-0 lead into halftime. Unfortunately though, in the second half the Bruins (18-2) wore down a fatigued MP team and eventually scored on a long, well-hit shot from out side the box. The goal proved to be enough to earn the win despite a strong comeback attempt by the Bulldogs. As a result, a tremendous season by the region champions from MP came to an end.
