Choosing the Best Makes Impact in Monroe Co.
We have had some very encouraging news about efforts to lower teen pregnancies with the Choosing The Best programs. We have learned from Georgia Public Health that data was being revealed which showed that teen pregnancies in Monroe County had reached a historic all time low. The school system also revealed that there has been a steady rise in high school graduation rates since the program started in 1999.  Valarie Hicks, Youth Coordinator with North Central District of Public Health, has been sharing with many other groups what The Pregnancy Center has done in our schools with the Choosing The Best program.  This story can be found in detail on the Choosing The Best website.  Look on the right side and you will see the story about Monroe County.
