GA Summer Reading Challenge
GA Summer Reading Challenge
First Lady of Georgia Sandra Deal recently shared summer reading resources.  In recent correspondence with Georgia's school superintendents, she stated that extensive research shows that students lose ground academically when they are out of school over the summer, slowing their progress toward third grade reading proficiency. We know that no matter how much high quality learning is going on in your classrooms during the school year, students will never achieve this critical benchmark without addressing what's happening in the months when they're outside of schools.
