Soccer News MP Boys soccer remains unbeaten in region play, faces rival Jackson on Friday night The Mary Persons boys soccer team is on a roll. Last Friday the squad improved to 6-1-2 on the season after beating Central-Macon. The No. 10 ranked Bulldogs rolled to an easy 7-0 triumph on the night. The victory came just 24 hours after traveling to Baldwin and returning with a 4-1 region win. MP remains unbeaten in region play at 3-0 and it hasn't lost in its last six games. Junior Josh Hampton had four goals against the Chargers. Devin Williams, Ryan Shepard and Will Walters also found the back of the net on the night. Defensively the Bulldogs allowed just a single shot on goal and outshot their opponent 24-1. The Baldwin win was arguably MP's biggest region victory to date. The Bulldogs led 2-0 at the half and were able to pull away for a comfortable win in the second half. Senior captain Dennis Miller netted two goals on the night while freshman James Davis and Hampton also scored. The Bulldogs outshot the Braves 18-2 on the night. MP hosts rival Jackson this Friday night before traveling to Warner Robins and FPD next week. Click here to access the MP Soccer page, where you will find team rosters and schedules for all teams.
