Congratulations to the FFA Agricultural Mechanics Team for placing 2nd at the Central Region Area III Contest. Team members Zachary White, Caroline Waldrep, Tia Chastain, Devin Garner, and Jarod England.

FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes) meets every Friday at 7:30 in room 122.  Everyone is welcome.

Sports Corner

Akebren Ralls has signed a letter of intent to play football at Kennesaw State University. Kennesaw State is just starting football, and this was the first signing class. They will begin playing football during the 2015 season.  Akebren is pictured here with his parents, Kim Ralls and Ron Dumas, as well as his sister Shakiami Ralls, and his nephew Ji'Xyden.  Also pictured are his coaches:  David Carey, Jeremy Rayburn, Brian Nelson (Athletic Director), Dan Burdette, Matt Gordon, and Athletic Trainer Jeff Quinn. 


The Lady Dogs were 2 and 1 for the week. On Tuesday night they defeated Veterans 65 to 44. Ke Ke Calloway lead all scores with 33 points, Tyesha Davis added 13, and Asiana Almon scored 14. On Wednesday night they defeated Howard 64 to 35. KeKe again lead all scorers with 27 points and Tyesha Davis scored 15. On Friday night we traveled to West Laurens and lost in overtime 72 to 73. Tyesha Davis lead the lady dogs with 26 points and KeKe added 15 while Asiana Almon scored 14.


The Lady Dogs will go into the region tournament seeded #1 and will Play Thursday night at 7:00. The tournament will be held at Rutland High School in Macon.


The Boys Basketball team played a scrappy game at Veterans last Tuesday night, however, the Bulldogs lost 73-51. The game was much closer than the score indicates. Demarcus Davis scored 15 points and Keri Brown followed with 12 points. Then Wednesday night the Bulldogs played a makeup game with Howard for the last home game of the season and won 67-65. Demarcus Davis scored a season high 30 points and Tra Taylor scored 17 points. The Bulldogs lost their last regular season game at West Laurens on Friday night 76-58. Keri Brown led all scorers with 17 points, followed by Demarcus Davis with 14.


The JV Boys lost to Veterans 72-64 last Tuesday, but rebounded against Howard the following day with a 50-43 win. The JV boys record stands at 5 wins and 9 losses.

Media Center Message

Deadline Approaching!! 
Student Media Festival

The Georgia Student Media Festival will be held in May.  Our school-level judging will take place in February. Students are encouraged to submit multimedia projects they may have already created in one of their classes during first semester, or something they may create this semester. Projects do not have to be created just for this festival.  The deadline for submitting entries is February 21, 2014.
