MONROE COUNTY SCHOOLS TO OPEN
FRIDAY, JANUARY 31 WITH A TWO HOUR DELAY FOR STUDENTS
Monroe County Schools have announced that classes will resume Friday, Jan. 31, with a two-hour delay.
All faculty and staff should report to their assigned locations at 8 a.m. Buses will begin their routes two-hours later than their normal start times. All morning student pick-ups will be approximately 2-hours later than normal.
Afternoon bus routes will run on a normal schedule, including the 21st Century Afterschool Program.
This decision comes after school administrators have personally inspected roads and have conferred at length with Monroe County Emergency Management Personnel and the Monroe County Road Department. Some roads will continue to be icy on Friday morning. The delayed start will allow buses, parents, staff and students to travel them in the daylight.
All persons traveling to school buildings on Friday morning are urged to use caution, especially when traveling roadways that may be heavily-shaded.
