*Seniors: It is time to complete your FAFSA! Go to www.fafsa.gov to start your application. MPHS Counseling Department is hosting College Goal Day on Thursday, February 20. This event is held once a year to assist students and their families with completing the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid).
*Seniors: Click here to access the GSFAPPS instructions. GSFAPPS is separate from FAFSA! GSFAPPS is the application for state financial aid such as HOPE Scholarship and FAFSA is the application for federal financial aid such as the Pell Grant, Work Study, and subsidized/unsubsidized loans. Students will need to complete both! GSFAPPS is the application that students MUST complete in order to receive the HOPE Grant, HOPE Scholarship, Zell Miller Scholarship, and any other form of financial aid administered by GSFC (Georgia Student Finance Commission).
*Seniors: Remember to check the Senior Scholarship page. Scholarships are added as they arrive.
*There is still time to pay for your AP exams. The cost is $90. Please see Mrs. Burston if you have questions.
*Washington Youth Tour: Rising Sophomores and Juniors could win an all-expense paid trip to the nation's capital. An entry form, two references and a 500 word essay on what an electric cooperative is and what benefit electric cooperatives provide to their communities. Applicants must be 16 by June 12 to apply and commit to making the trip June 12 - 19. This is an amazing opportunity for your student.
*All members of the Class of 2015 should have received their Individual Graduation Planning appointment letters from the counseling department last week during MP Period. Please contact your counselor if you need to reschedule your appointment.

The MP Lady Dogs defeated Rutland Friday night 48 to 44. KeKe Calloway had 22 points and Tyesha Davis added 13. The lady dogs also defeated Houston County Saturday by a score of 63 to 38. Tyesha Davis lead all scorers with 22 and KeKe Clloway added 19. The Lady Dogs record is now 17 and 2.
The MP Boys Basketball lost Friday night to Rutland 106-58 in a region game. Saturday the boys bounced back with a 76-72 victory over Houston County. Tra Taylor led the scoring with 29 points while Demarcus Davis had 22 points. The Bulldogs record is now 10-9 for the season.
The JV Boys defeated Rutland Friday and lost another close game at Houston County. Their record is now 4-8 for the season.
