New Computers, New Passwords
On August 7, Technology Team personnel will be issuing new MacBook Pro units for teachers.  Additionally, personnel will receive their new passcode for the 2013-2014 school year. 

The Technology Team is ready to assist staff with technology needs.  Support requests should entered using TechTracker.
BOE to meet Tuesday, August 13
The Board of Education will hold its regular monthly meeting on Tuesday, August 13 at 7 p.m. in the central office Board of Education meeting room.

**All new students need to make an appointment to register with Mrs. Cindy Seymour, system registrar.  New student registrations are handled at Central Office.  To receive an enrollment packet and set up an appointment, new families are encouraged to call 478-994-2031 or stop by the Central Office at 25 Brooklyn Avenue between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Welcome New Staff Members!
Day Three of Teacher Induction Program is Monday, August 5.  Over 40 new teachers and new paraprofessionals gathered at KBSutton Elementary School for training on PBIS, Standards Based Classroom, Professional Expectations, and more.  The training concludes with Day Three at Central Office with a training on AESOP substitute securing and the Code of Ethics for Educators.

Lisa Singley  Recognized as 2013 Healthy Hero Award Winner

At a recent state awards ceremony, Monroe County Schools Nutrition Director Lisa Singley was recognized as a 2013 Healthy Hero Award winner.  Through her advocacy for health and nutrition and the efforts to bring about "The Wellness Zone" and its related activities at KBSutton Elementary School, Mrs. Singley and her staff were recognized for outstanding efforts to help students live healthy lives.

Visitor and Volunteer Information
Monroe County Schools, in accordance with state laws, requires visitors to report to the school's front office and register.  Additionally, volunteers who serve our schools are required to participate in state-mandated training on an annual basis.  For more information on volunteer training, click here.

 

Volunteer: 

  • Working with students in the classroom
  • Working on teacher projects in the parent room (or other designated area that is not in a classroom)
  • Assisting in the media center
  • Field trips
  • Assisting PTO with projects that occur within the school day
  • Chaperones

Visitor:

  • Field Day
  • Eating lunch with their child
  • Attending a class, grade, or school program during the day
  • On campus for a short period of time with no supervisory responsibilities (i.e. classroom party visitor)
