Parents and Community Members:

As you know, Mary Person High School Football team continues to have an exciting and successful season under new Head Coach Brian Nelson and his coaching staff.

Last Friday night's win over Cairo High School has the MP Bulldogs traveling to Rossville, GA playing Ridgeland High School.  The game will start at 7:30 PM.  For those of you who are not aware of where Rossville is located, it is on the Georgia/Tennessee line.

Due to the travel time needed for our football team, band members, cheerleaders, and fans, Monroe County Schools will dismiss early on Friday, November 30, 2012.  Students will be released at 12:30 pm. Students will be served lunch before going home.

There are multiple reasons which have brought me to this decision:

1. Making sure our student groups have ample time to travel through Atlanta and arrive safely at the location;

2. Knowing MP students will want to go watch and support their team, I worry about students driving in groups without parents and trying to make the four hour trip if school is released after 3:00 PM and the game starts at 7:30 PM ; and

3. Knowing our community support is fantastic and that many of you will want to attend the game and need time to travel safely.

Parents will need to make arrangements to be at home to receive younger children.  Parents who pick their children up from school, will need to arrive around 12:30 pm.

Thank you for understanding and working with the school system.  This an exciting time for all of our students because they are all either currently MP Bulldogs or will be MP Bulldogs.

MP ALL THE WAY!!!  GO DOGS!!!

Respectfully Submitted,

Anthony Pack
