CONTINUING
A commitment to the daily practice of Centering Prayer is the primary expression of belonging.
Theological Principle # 2
So that they may all be one; just as You, Father, are in me and I in you, may they also be one in us.
John 17: 21

I Corinthians 13--The Love Chapter
Read these verses as Paul wrote them:
Love is patient and kind;
love is not jealous or boastful;
it is not arrogant or rude.
Love does not insist on its own way;
it is not irritable or resentful;
it does not rejoice at wrong, but rejoices in the right.
Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
Read them again in a new way:
I am patient and kind;
I am not jealous or boastful;
I am not arrogant or rude. I do not insist on my own way; I am not irritable or resentful;
I do not rejoice at wrong, but rejoice in the right.
I bear all things, believe all things, hope all things, endure all things.

CALLING
The Daily Reader for Contemplative Living Father Thomas Keating
This book is an excellent resource for an individual Pray-er to support one's daily practice. Centering Prayer groups can also use it at their meetings as a source for meditation and wisdom sharing.
The book's structure is both simple and elegant. Each day's text begins with a prayer sentence that acts as both a theme and an invitation. Next there is a short reflection to inspire meditation taken from one of the works by Father Thomas Keating. Each closes with an appropriate, longer citation from scripture
that is a Biblically based recapitulation of the daily theme.
