CONSIDERATION
COPNS would like to express its profound gratitude to Donna Gail Spencer for her generous gift to our chapter. Because of her hours of volunteer work in our community, Donna Gail received a monetary award from her former employer, Wells Fargo, to give to the charity of her choice. She chose COPNS as the beneficiary because our mission to transmit Centering Prayer gives people, in her words, "a type of peace that no one can take away from them regardless of their circumstances-a peace that once they are taught they can help others to learn as well." Donna Gail grew up in a family that believed God puts us on earth "to make the world a better, happier, and more beautiful place" than we find it. Her father was involved in community activities as the Boy Scouts and the Optimist Club and he taught her that "charity is a lifestyle, not an event."Thank you, Donna Gail, for entrusting this gift to our chapter.

So that they may all be one; just as You, Father, are in me and I in you, may they also be one in us.

Let gratitude be the pillow
upon which you kneel
to say your nightly prayer.
And let faith be the bridge you build
to overcome evil
and welcome good.

Camp Beckwith

Retreats are a way to take one's relationship with God and one's prayer practice deeper. Retreats offer time and space away from the busyness and demands of daily life, and allow the mind, body, and spirit to surrender to God's presence and action within. Retreats are a common practice in many spiritual traditions and are a valuable tool to aid one's interior transformation in Christ.
