The OGAP framework has a wealth of information on it. One aspect - the structures of problems - is a constant reminder about how important it is to vary structures in questions we ask during instruction as well as when using questions for formative assessment purposes.
Take a minute to look at the front page of the framework and highlight structures that you have used so far this year in both instruction as well as for formative assessment purposes. (Your item usage notifications on the eTool also provide this information. ) Decide -- Have I varied the structures or am I relying on just a few structures? Use this information in your planning.

If you have not already done so, look at your latest item usage notification on the eTool. What patterns stand out? How can you use this information in your planning?

TEACHER TIPS will be sent out periodically to help you make the most of OGAP in your classroom this year. If you have comments or suggestions about TEACHER TIPS, please let us know at ogapmath@gse.upenn.edu.
