Dear  ,

A bill to increase funding for long-term homeless services will be heard in a Senate Committee  today!

While this is a non-budget year for the State Legislature, solving the crisis of long-term homelessness for Minnesota's vulnerable adults, youth and children deserves our constant attention.  This is a chance to work with our legislators on a solution that invests in people and measurable results.

As you know, the Long-Term Homeless Services Fund (LTHSSF) suffered a loss of $3 million in 2011; $2 million was restored during the last legislative session.  This bill, SF1013, could fully restore funding to previous levels and could expand investment to reach counties in the state that currently receive no assistance from the LTHSSF. The chief author of the bill, Senator Jeff Hayden, will be specifying later the amount to be added to the base funding of the LTHSSF.

Please take a moment to talk with your legislators about why supportive services are a priority in reducing long-term homelessness.

Please, do not delay - make a phone call or send a quick email today.
