Hearth Connection and the Homes for All Coalition Need Your Support: END OF SESSION PUSH!
The Health and Human Services Conference Committee is meeting this week to determine the funding levels for DHS programs - including homeless service programs. Hearth Connection and the Homes for All Coalition need your help to give one final advocacy push - this will probably be our very last request!
Together, we are seeking $11 million for DHS homeless programs - including a crucial $3.5 million increase to the Long-Term Homeless Supportive Services Fund (which provides services in the regional long-term homelessness projects, and was the only homeless service program to experience a loss of state funding in 2011).
Please, do not delay - make a phone call or send a quick email today.
WHAT TO SAY

"I am part of the Hearth Connection network working to end homelessness in Minnesota. Thank you for supporting new funding to serve homeless youth. I call to ask you to please increase funding to DHS homeless service programs - especially the Long-Term Homeless Supportive Services Fund (LTHSSF) which has experienced losses in state funding the past two years.
Specifically, the Homes for All coalition is seeking $11 million in new investments for DHS homeless programs to partner with the investments the Senate is proposing for MN Housing programs including:
· $3.5 million new for the Long-Term Homeless Supportive Service Fund (to make up for a $3 million loss in 2011)
· $6 million new for the Homeless Youth Act
· $1 million new for Transitional Housing
· $500,000 new for Emergency Solutions Program (shelter and critical intervention)
Thank you."
