Summit Prep Gala
Like Totally Raven: Friday, November 4th at Hickory Hills

This year we're going back in time and celebrating the 1980s at The Summit Prep's Annual Gala. Check your closets and get ready for a like totally Raven night, Summit style! Tickets are $75 per person (sponsorships are available) with hors d'oeuvres from Hickory Hills and a cash bar. The event will include a sponsor tasting event, a bar raffle, an 80s mystery, silent and live auction, and 80s music. The main event will be from 7-9 p.m. at Hickory Hills. Invite your friends and get ready for a totally tubular party!

Pasta Express Fundraiser: Monday, Sept. 19th
Plan to eat pasta on Monday, September 19th at Pasta Express (3025 W. Republic Rd)! We are teaming up with Pasta Express to host a Summit Fundraiser, benefiting SPO, from 4-8:30 pm that Monday night. Just bring the flyer (click to the right) that night, or show it on your phone, and The Summit will receive a percentage of those sales! Feel free to share this with your family and friends as well. Plus, if you book any catering that day, 20% will be donated back to The Summit. More information will be sent out (and flyers will be sent home) closer to the date. 
Fall Mum/Flower Fundraiser
Fall Mum Order Forms went home with Lower School students on Friday (an electronic copy was emailed out to upper school families). This fundraiser benefits SPO (Summit Parent Organization) and will provide funds for such things as: Teachers' Professional Development Fund, Muffins with Mom, Donuts with Dad, Grandparents Day, and purchasing items off of teacher/classroom wish lists. Order forms are due to the front desk on Friday, Sept 9th. Flowers will be ready for pick up on Friday, Sept 23rd during car line.
After School Enrichment Club Sign Up
At The Summit we know that learning continues beyond the traditional school day. One way we help foster a student's love of learning is through our after school enrichment clubs. These clubs are available to both Summit students and non-Summit students. 

Each camp is $70 per student and runs for a total of six (6) weeks. Camps meet on their designated day from 3:30-4:30 pm at The Summit Prep (ie: Acting Club meets every Wednesday). 

Clubs will begin next week, the week of September 6th (Monday's Art Club will meet first on Sept 12th). We have SIX great clubs for our first session. Check out the list below and sign up today:

Mondays: Art Club with Mrs. Murphy
Tuesdays: Four Square with Mr. G
Wednesdays: Acting Club with Mrs. Murphy or Seuss-a-Palooza with Ms. Renfroe
Thursdays: Air Rockets with Professor Powers or Traveling Club with Senora Raven
Professor Powers Science Symposium
Professor Powers Science Symposium, a local non-profit founded by Summit Science Teacher Rob Powers and his wife Kara, offers engaging science classes to children and adults several times a month. Classes this fall include:
  • Weather 101: Solar Energy, Sat., Sept.3rd
  • Tanagrams, Sat., Sept. 17th
  • Rockets, Sat., Sept. 24th
  • Potions, Sat., Oct. 22nd
  • Spooky Effects & Party, Sat., Oct. 29th
  • Tessellations, November 5th
  • Harry Potter Science, Sat., Nov. 12th
  • Projectiles, Sat., Nov. 19th
  • Star Wars Science, Sat., Dec. 3rd

Updated Summit School Calendar

No School on Monday, September 5th
In observance of Labor Day, The Summit will be closed on Monday, September 5th. There will be no classes and the office will be closed as well. We will see you all on Tuesday!
Late Start on Wednesday, September 14th
New this year, The Summit Prep will have a 9:30 a.m. late start day once a month (except October). Classes will be at 9:30 a.m., instead of the 8:45 a.m. start time. On these late start days Fun Zone will be extended from 8:30 a.m. to 9:15 a.m. (there will be no additional charge for Fun Zone from 8:30-9:15 a.m.). Students may head to their classrooms starting at 9:15 a.m. on late start days. These late starts will accommodate teacher/staff meetings, curriculum development, and professional development. Scrip Tips: Stock Up for Labor Day
  • Do you need extra gas cards or grocery cards for your labor day picnic?  
  • Are you heading to the lake? Pick up your scrip cards & supplies at Walmart (2.5%), Target (2.5%), Bass Pro (9%) before you go.  
  • Are you planning to go shopping? There are lots of cards available right now at the front desk. Stop by and check them out! 
  • Are you going out of town and need a hotel reservationScrip has many different hotel's to choose from and most have a rebate of 3%-12%.
  • Planning on going out to dinner at your favorite restaurant?  Scrip may offer your favorite restaurant with a rebate.  (8%-12% rebates)
