RAA  participates in ERA General Asembly

RAA President Roger Cohen (left) shares a panel on the "Evolution of Regional Aviation" during the ERA General Assembly in Barcelona last week. It was another opportunity to underscore how US regional carriers are being forced to cut flights and reduce aircraft fleets owing to a shortage of pilots. Cohen was joined by Maurizio Merio, CEO Etihad Regional (Darwin Airline), Per G. Braathen, Chairman Braganza AB and Tony Tyler, Director General IATA. ERA announced its 2015 General Assembly will be held October 13-15 in Berlin next year.

RAA AQP Work Group Names New Co-chair
 Vin Parker
Vin Parker of Compass Airlines has been appointed Co-chair of RAA's Advanced Qualification Program (AQP) Work Group assuming leadership duties with Paul Caldwell of SkyWest Airlines. The group will meet later this month at ExpressJet Airlines in Houston continuing its critical role of information sharing to maintain the highest training standards for airline crew members and dispatchers. All airlines, large and small, are invited to attend. Contact RAA Senior Vice President-Operations & Safety Scott Foose for more information.

RAA to support IATA aviation security meeting in Washington, DC this month
IATA's 23rd AVSEC World three-day meeting will be held October 27-29, 2014 in Washington, DC. This year's theme: Creating the Future will focus on how to meet the demands of emerging threats and raising the bar for aviation security. Panel sessions, specialized tracks and networking events will also feature new technologies available for security on the ground and the need to align aviation security and facilitiaton.  Click here to view the detailed schedule and register here.
