FAA Announces Pilot Training Final Rule

DOT Secretary Foxx and FAA Administrator Huerta jointly announced long-pending revisions to Commercial Pilot Training rules on November 5 during a press conference in Washington, DC. Air carriers will have five years to comply with the rule's new pilot training provisions, allowing time for the necessary software updates to be made in flight simulation technology. RAA on the move

RAA President Roger Cohen opened the SpeedNews 18th Annual Regional & Business Aviation Industry Suppliers Conference this week in Scottsdale, AZ, with an overview of the regional airline industry. In Puerto Rico, RAA Director-Safety & Technical Affairs Stacey Bechdolt participated in the University Aviation Association Fall Education Conference focusing on the globalization of collegiate aviation and the need for future aviators. Click here to view her presentation. In other RAA staff news, Faye Malarkey Black recently joined the Aero of Club of Washington, DC, Board of Directors to serve a two-year term.

CAE and Jazz Aviation LP recently renewed their exclusive long-term training services agreements on all of Jazz's fleet types including the Bombardier CRJ, Dash 8-100/300 and Q400 aircraft.

American Eagle Airlines and LeTourneau University of Texas recently signed an agreement to provide a direct pathway for selected LETU flight students to find employment with the regional after graduation.

Seaborne Airlines and JetBlue announced an interline agreement at Luis Munoz Martin Airport in San Juan, PR. Effective January 15, 2014, Seaborne will operate to 14 airports throughout the Caribbean.

Cape Air will launch service to five Eastern Montana communities on December 10, 2013 from its Billings hub.
