RAA Member Airlines are Ready for New Pilot Licensing Law
The regional airline industry is "committed and ready" for the First Officer Qualifications (FOQ) rule that became effective July 15, 2013 requiring first officers to have a minimum of 1500 hours and hold an ATP and be age 21.
While regional airline training professionals have worked intensely preparing for these new standards, RAA President Roger Cohen underlines that "unfortunately, the goal posts have been moved for future aviators...the changes will impact the future supply of pilots and could imperil service to 500 US communities." * American Eagle Airlines Captain Mike Maas named the winner of the 2012-2013 Outstanding Airport Safety Liaison Award
* Piedmont Airlines Captain Stephen Ormsbee awarded the Presidential Citation
* ExpressJet Flight #5912 Captain Micah Peery and First Officer Andrew Kinnear received the 2012 Superior Airmanship Award
