Silver Airways Wins Regional Airline of the Year

The Silver Airways team gladly accepted the prestigious
Air Transport World Regional Airline of the Year award during the magazine's annual Airline Industry Achievement Awards dinner in Washington, DC, on March 26.  Matthew Ray, Silver Airways Board Chairman, underlines "sound strategic planning and smart operational decisions have been essential to our success over the past 18 months." Ray thanked Silver's 800 employees for their dedication and hard work, as well  as Aerobrand for its development of a striking fuchsia livery and brand on its fleet of 25+strong fleet of Saab 340Bplus aircraft.

Mesa Becomes 27th RAA Airline Member

This week RAA grew its airline membership to 27 carriers with the addition of  Mesa Air Group, Inc. of Phoenix.  Growing the association is one of the RAA's top priorities.

The Mesa Air Group team currently numbers 1800 employees with a fleet of 65 aircraft (5 CRJ200s, 20 CRJ700s and 40 CRJ900s) performing more than 465 daily departures to 96 cities, in 37 states, Canada and Mexico.  "With our company built on valued partnerships with United Airlines and US Airways, in addition to our own independent low cost airline go! in Hawaii, we look forward to participating in RAA activities and appreciate the warm welcome," says Mesa Air Group Chairman and CEO Jonathan Ornstein.

RAA Connects with UND Students
RAA President Roger Cohen will shine a spotlight on upcoming opportunities in regional airline careers during the University of North Dakota's 32nd Annual Student Aviation Management Association (SAMA) Conference and Career Fair, April 18-19 at its Grand Forks campus.  SAMA was organized to promote aviation professionalism and camaraderie at the collegiate level and will welcome a number of RAA airline members at its career fair during its two-day meeting.
