To Our Select Producers,
As you will recall, on November 13th, two weeks after Sandy, we re-opened for new business. At that time we placed certain "distance to coast" restrictions on properties located in the hardest hit areas of Suffolk and Nassau counties as well as the boroughs of Queens, Brooklyn and Staten Island. On November 26th we lifted the restrictions in Suffolk County.
New York City: As of today, we are now removing the distance-to-coast restrictions in Queens, Brooklyn and Staten Island. But, we are still being careful and cautious. While we no longer employ a distance to coast limitation, we will restrict binding in the hardest hit areas. For the following ten zip codes, we encourage you to submit applications, but for these zip codes no binding is permitted. Complete applications will be subject to underwriter approval. Before an underwriter can approve the submission, it must include a signed no-loss statement regarding Superstorm Sandy as well as current photos (front and rear of home). Homes in these zip codes will be subject to an interior inspection.

Nassau County: The South Shore and North Shore of Nassau continue to have a distance to coast restriction of 5,000 feet and 2,500 feet respectively. We are working on going back to our Pre-Sandy rules, similar to what we have done today for the three boroughs of NYC. You can expect an update on or before December 15th.
We appreciate your patience and are eager to continue doing business with you. As always, thank you for being one of our Select Producers
Sincerely,
