Back-to-School and Staying Fit!
Whether your a mom getting your child ready for another school year or a student working towards that degree, the end of summer shouldn't mean the end to healthy habits. New schedules, responsibilities, and friends can sabotage all the good work you've done.
As a mom, it's easy to completely ignore yourself and focus only on others, however, you'll end up mentally and physically taxed out. Exercising lowers stress, improves mood, and increases energy. Staying healthy will also increase your life span, so that you can watch your children grow into amazing adults with kids of their own.
To free up your schedule, delegate and outsource tasks. Consider rotating babysitting duties with friends, so you all benefit. Second, don't procrastinate on anything, because you'll only end up with less time. And lastly, come up with an agreement and schedule with your partner where they watch the kids for certain times.
Aside from the long nights studying and writing papers, college is an excellent place to overeat, binge drink, and be sedentary. Avoid these health busting traps by asking friends to join you in staying fit. Together, make smart food choices and take our amazing classes to stay active.
So moms and students, you'll get more than a fantastic workout at PFR. You'll laugh, have fun, bond with others, and develop a support network of new friends. After all, we think of ourselves as more than just a fitness studio. We're a welcoming community and we look forward to spending time with you! |
New PilatesTRICKS CHAIR Class!
Starting August 20th on Monday nights at 7:30pm, is our new pilates chair class. At PFR our PilatesTRICKS CHAIR program gives a modern approach to the Traditional Pilates Chair and combines both cardio and body-sculpting all in one workout. Not only will you tighten your thighs, tone your arms, firm your abs, and lift your buns, you'll also burn fat and calories for the ultimate 2-1 program. In fact, consistency with our program can whittle your waistline and carve long, lean muscles for a total-body transformation! As in all our class choices at PFR our Pilates program will compliment your pole and/or aerial routine. Pilates techniques can counter-act muscle tightness and intense compact contraction helping to maintain a healthy, streamline body with ease of flexibility, posture and overall strength. Watch our quick sample demonstration of some body sculpting moves that will be taught, because as Joseph Pilates said, "We make you over entirely, inside and out; not in words - in actions." Check our class schedule for start date and time. This class is part of our TRICKS/Aerial FLY Program and ALL INCLUSIVE Packages. |
Heat Up Your Party with Us!
Ladies, make your event memorable and the most talked about! Book your next party at the studio and enjoy a girls' night like you've never had. Whether it's a birthday, a bachelorette party, a promotional event, or just celebrating life, PoleFIT Revolution is the hot spot for it. If you prefer to party at home or another location, we can bring a pole to you. For more party info, click here. Dates fill up quickly, so don't delay. We can't wait to hear from you!
Instead of serving traditional finger foods at your gathering, put small bites on skewers. It's not only appetizing and classy, but keeps fingers clean, because if you plan on poling, that's very important. You can skewer anything from fruits to meats and have them raw or grilled, just keep your choices healthy, please. Your guests will love you for it! |

Making Back-to-School Meals, Easier and Healthier!
Did you feed the kids then find yourself rushing out the door without eating or did you wake up late? Try these simple to-go breakfast ideas, like a multi-grain waffle with cream cheese and sliced strawberries to fuel you up, so you don't crash before lunch. And never skip this meal thinking you're saving calories. Eating breakfast kick starts your metabolism, so choose something nutritious and enjoy!
We know a lot has changed when it comes to school lunches for children. Instead of choosing between peanut butter or baloney, today, parents are faced with highly questionable, government-mandated lunches to peanut-free classrooms and then add to it, finicky eaters. It's a daunting task to know what to fix, especially when you're busy. Hopefully, these lunch ideas (great for most ages) will help and they make great snacks, too! |
Refer a Friend Promotion!
Refer a friend to our studio and you both get 20% off a regular package price or a regular drop-in price. Both you and your friend must be present in the same class to receive this discount. It's more fun to shake it with a friend!
This promotion cannot be used with any other offers and cannot be used towards previous offers. There is no cash value.
This offer expires August 31, 2012. |

Trainer's Corner Your Exercise Routine: How Much Is Enough?
In January 2005, the U.S. government released a new set of dietary guidelines essentially telling us that as Americans get bigger, so does the length of time...Read more... Trainer's Challenge: Give Up Fizzy Drinks Can't get enough soda? If so, you may be addicted. Plus, it's loaded with chemicals your body doesn't need and leaves you bloated. This month, opt for healthier natural choices by flavoring your water with a splash of juice, fruit and herbs, or flavored ice cubes. It might be difficult at first, but you may never miss pop again! Fitness Challenge: Elbow Plank with Variations This demonstration of an elbow plank, to work your core, shows three variations: beginner, intermediate, and advanced. If you've never exercised before, start at the beginner level and do 10. Work your way up to 3 sets of 10 over time and then move to the intermediate level until you can do 3 sets of 10 of those. Finally, move on to advanced repeating the same method. The goal is to do all levels for 3 sets of 10. Pole Move of the Month: Inside Knee Spin This spin uses a basic grip or a one-handed grip. Both legs come in front of the pole and you can land on your feet or bring it to the floor so you will land in a "mermaid" postion. It is simple and pretty and you can vary it by kicking your outside leg out, as demonstrated in this video. |
