Director's Update

Dear Husky Families,

We want to thank all the families, faculty, and community members that came out to support Summit Prep at our annual fundraising auction last Saturday night. The night was a great success, filled with fun and laughter! All of our teachers are particularly grateful for the generous contributions given during the Fund-A-Need portion of the evening. We would also like to extend a special thank you to the auction committee for putting together such a successful and enjoyable event.

Summit Prep Students Complete in LearnStorm
Last week, a number of Summit Prep students were recognized for their academic and extracurricular accomplishments.  Out of over 1,500 participating schools, Summit Preparatory Charter High School has had outstanding participation in LearnStorm, a program launched by Khan Academy to foster a "growth mindset" in students. On Saturday, May 9seniors Emma Dubridge and Jocelyn Bahena, junior Erin Mostowfi, sophomore Aiden Nelson, and freshmen Angela Chung will represent our school among a select group of 300 learners who have mastered the most skills and shown the most "hustle" out of the more than 69,000 LearnStorm participants. We are very proud of their hard work!

Summit Seniors Win Essay Writing Scholarship
The Woodside/Portola Rotary Club announced the winners of their scholarship essay contest and all three winning essays were submitted by Summit Prep students! Cheyenne Seneca took first prize, Erin Miller won second prize, and Lourdes Tovar Sanchez earned the third place prize. All together, these students earned $5,000 to apply towards their college education. In reflecting on the winning essays, the Rotary Club shared they were "very impressed with the thoughtfulness and expression of the Summit students."
