From 8:15-8:20, the Summit Prep culture reflects a sense of urgency.
-
After 8:20, the culture of the front desk is one of reflection and growth.
-
Students who arrive after 8:20 will complete a tardy reflection sheet.
-
Once completed and reviewed by Ms. Zamora, students may enter their class with their tardy reflection sheet.
-
Students will give their reflection to their teacher.
- If a student is tardy 5 times, the grade level team teachers will call home to share with parent(s) that tardiness is a concern (seniors: current attendance policy still applies)
- If a student is tardy 10 times, the Directors will schedule a meeting with the student, parent(s), and mentor to create an action plan to improve on time arrival to school (seniors: current attendance policy still applies)

Prevent Summer Slide
|
Did you know that all young people experience learning losses when they do not engage in educational activities during the summer? Students typically score lower on standardized tests at the end of summer vacation than they do on the same tests at the beginning of the summer. This is called "Summer Slide," and it is not the fun, water one we usually think of with summer.
While summer is still a few months away, it's important to start planning for the summer now to ensure students use that time productively and are engaged in thoughtful activities. We encourage students to participate in activities that will help them reach their individual PLP goals. For some, that may be more math, writing, and reading practice so that they can improve their grades or ACT scores. For others, it may be engaging in a passion project or developing new leadership skills. Or, it can be a combination of all of the above.
Sign up your child up for Summer of Summit to help prevent Summer Slide. Go now to the Summer of Summit Registration Form OR pick up a registration form at your school's front desk.

Dates are as follows:
-
June 23 - 26
-
July 7 - 10
-
July 14 - 17
-
July 21 - 24
The program, including a daily lunch, is free of charge to all Summit incoming and current students.
Please check the Summer of Summit Website at http://tinyurl.com/SoSParents for more info.
