Director's Update
|
Dear Husky Families,
We would like to shout out the Student Social Committee for putting together a wonderful prom this weekend. We hope to continue our celebration of students with our entire parent community this Friday, as we honor our students and faculty for this year's accomplishments. Please see below for details.
MAP Testing This Week
Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, all students will take the NWEA MAP test to assess the growth they have made this year in reading, writing, and math. We hope all students will arrive on time each day at 8:15 and try their very best on these tests to provide us with accurate data on their growth and ability.
Thank you and here's to a great week!

Young Dreamer's Network
|
The Young Dreamer Network is hosting our 2nd Annual Summit Prep Talent Show on June 5 at 4pm! As a part of this huge fundraiser, the Young Dreamers are having a raffle with numerous prizes to help raise money for our summer trips and our Network in general. This fundraiser is a major source of funding for our Young Dreamers that are working hard to earn their way to participate in service programs abroad this summer. We would greatly appreciate any raffle prize donations that our Summit parents can offer, or any donation in general to our Talent Show!
Last year, through parent donations, we graciously received numerous prizes such as gift cards from Visa, Target, and Starbucks, Jambox speakers, a GoPro camera, an iPad Mini, picnic baskets, and more! With your support, our Talent Show will be very successful. If you can contribute any donation towards our raffle prizes or our fundraising in general, please feel free to drop off any donations clearly labeled: "Young Dreamer Network, Ms. Ching" to Ms. Zamora at the front desk, or write a check out to the Young Dreamer Network. We greatly appreciate it!

Internships for Class of 2016
|
The 2015-16 INTERNSHIP PROGRAM APPLICATION is now available for all rising 12th graders at Summit Prep.
- We recommend students apply right away! We anticipate having a waiting list at all schools for next year's program.
- We will need to be in communication with applicants over the summer so after application submission, students should check their email regularly.
Student Ownership and Job Search Skill Building
In alignment with our focus on helping student's learn to be self-directed, we are "teaming" with students to work together to find a meaningful internship.
- We have a list of opportunities available to students
- Students can arrange their own internship (we will need to approve it)
- Not all career areas are represented on our list, so we will also show students how to use their network to find their own internship
- We strongly encourage students to be open to applying for something that may not be exactly what they think they want. Any internship will be a valuable learning experience for them.
We very much welcome parent's using their networks to help us find great internships for our students. Students should:
