Greetings Summit Prep Community,
We would like to celebrate our Expeditions team for creating such a wonderful experience for all of our students! It has been a true pleasure to watch our students express their creativity, develop a greater sense of global awareness, build leadership skills, and actively begin the college application process! Thank you to Mr. Ponikvar and our Expeditions Team for supporting our students!
Halloween Carnaval on Saturday October 25th from 11-2pm! SPOT will be hosting our first community fundraiser with a Halloween Carnaval on Saturday, October 25th. Come join us for games, food, and prizes to support our annual campaign to raise $175,000! The Student Social Committee and SPOT are looking for student and parent volunteers to work booths and provide donations. You can find the Carnaval flier here at this link http://bit.ly/1vVyq6f
Picture Retakes this Wednesday: If you would like to re-take your 2014-2015 school photo, photographers will be on campus this Wednesday. Teaching and Learning Tour this Thursday from 8:30-10am (formerly Morning with the Director): Please join us this Thursday from 8:30-10am for a Teaching and Learning Tour with the Directors. We will be observing classrooms and engaging in a dialogue about the Summit student experience.

Carnaval - Saturday, October 25 from 11am - 2pm Come to Carnival and enjoy great food, and fun games, as well as a Haunted House. This event is open to the public, and is a way for the community can learn more about Summit. Please invite and encourage your neighbors to come and attend. College Corner

College Testing: An optional PSAT is being held Saturday, October 18 at Summit Prep. All 10th and 11th grade students signed up for the test should arrive at 7:45am and will finish at approximately 11:30pm.
On the morning of Friday, October 24, all 9th, 10th, and 11th grade students will take the EPAS, a practice version of the ACT. This test is free of charge and be excellent practice for the ACT.
College Testing Resources: If you have 2013/2014/2015 copies of lovingly used PSAT or ACT test prep books. we could still use them. Especially PSAT books. We could also use a couple books on college scholarships, especially the Scholarship Handbook (College Board) or Peterson's Scholarships, Grants & Prizes. At the school entrance there is a box where you can put your book donations. If you have questions, contact Erin at (650) 207-7848 or emiller.sp@mysummitps.org. if you NEED a college test prep book, text me and I'll make sure you get it.
College Visits: This fall, Summit Prep welcomes representatives from colleges and universities to our campus during lunch and after school. In the coming weeks, the following events are scheduled:

Winter Athletics Registration Meeting: Wednesday, October 15, 12:15pm CoRo - Get help with your registration or gather information on the upcoming Basketball and Soccer season. Athletes encouraged to attend and parents are welcome. Summit Prep's winter teams include Boys Basketball and Soccer, Girls Basketball and Soccer. All forms are due by October 31. You will not be allowed to tryout unless all forms are completed and you are cleared by the Athletic Director. Sorry, no exceptions.
Student Team Managers needed - We are looking for team managers for our basketball teams this winter. Responsibilities include keeping statistics, official score book, score board, shot clock for all home games. Dates are listed on MaxPreps. Stanford Concessions - All athlete assignments to the Stanford Football Concession will be managed by Barb Pedersen (bap2@pge.com). You will be receiving your assigned game by email from Barb. The remaining dates are Saturdays October 25, and November 15. If you have a conflict, please contact Barb immediately by email.
