Dear Husky Families -
This week, we launched our 2015-2016 recruitment season with our first Open House! We wanted to say thank you to the parent and student ambassadors who came to help prospective 8th grade families learn about the school experience and feel welcomed by the Summit community. Please share with your family and friends to attend our Open House events!
Parent Education Night this Thursday - Review of Back to School Night Part 2 This week, we will have our first Parent Education Night for families who missed our Back to School Night Part 2. If you were unable to attend our session in September, please join us this Thursday at 7pm for a review of how to support students at home by accessing the PLP tool. We will be postponing the Celebration of Learning for a later date so please stay tuned.
Join us for a Halloween Carnaval on Saturday October 25th from 11-2 p.m.!
SPOT will be hosting our first community fundraiser with a Halloween Carnaval on Saturday, October 25th. Come join us for games, food, and prizes to support our annual campaign to raise $175,000! The Student Social Committee and SPOT are looking for student and parent volunteers to work booths and provide donations. Carnaval Save the date for Summit's first ever " Carnaval." This fun event will take place on Saturday, October 25 from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. This carnival will feature great food, and fun games, as well as a Haunted House. This event is open to the public, and is a way for the community can learn more about Summit. Please invite/encourage your neighbors to come and attend. College Corner

College TestingAn optional PSAT is being held Saturday, October 18 at Summit Prep. All 10th and 11th grade students signed up for the test should arrive at 7:45 a.m. and will finish at approximately 11:30 p.m.
On the morning of Friday, October 24, all 9th, 10th, and 11th grade students will take the EPAS, a practice version of the ACT. This test is free of charge and be excellent practice for the ACT.
College Testing Resources If you have 2013/2014/2015 copies of test prep books you would like to donate, we could really use them. We are seeking lovingly used PSAT, ACT or SAT prep books. We would love to receive AP or SAT Subject Matter books on any topic. At the school entrance there is a box where you can put your book donations. Winter Athletics Registration Meeting Wednesday, October 15, 12:15 p.m. CoRo
Get help with your registration or gather information on the upcoming Basketball and Soccer season. Athletes encouraged to attend and parents are welcome. Summit Prep's winter teams include Boys Basketball and Soccer, Girls Basketball and Soccer. All forms are due by October 31. You will not be allowed to tryout unless all forms are completed and you are cleared by the Athletic Director. Sorry, no exceptions.
Student Team Managers needed - We are looking for team managers for our basketball teams this winter. Responsibilities include keeping statistics, official score book, score board, shot clock for all home games. Dates are listed on MaxPreps. Stanford Concessions
All athlete assignments to the Stanford Football Concession will be managed by Barb Pedersen (bap2@pge.com). You will be receiving your assigned game by email from Barb. The remaining dates are Friday October 10, Saturdays October 25, and November 15. If you have a conflict, please contact Barb immediately by email.
