Potluck. Thank you everyone for attending our Annual Fall Potluck on Friday, November 15. We had a great turn out and as always, an abundance of food and great company. Thank you for those of you who have signed up for the many spots available. These updates will be made online before we return from the break.
As a reminder, this year, the SPOT is led by a small team of Grade Level Ambassadors (see below) - through whom key communications and volunteer designations will be accomplished. Key Volunteer Positions Needed - for questions or to fill either of these positions, drop us an email at: spotsummit@gmail.com.
- eScrip Administrator Assistant. eScrip is a program by which you can earn money for Summit by shopping. We are looking for an assistant to the administrator who can roll out the program at school, and who can do lightweight administration. The time commitment is not expected to exceed 3 hours a month - and counts towards your 30 annual hour volunteering requirements.
- Husky T-Shirts and Hoodies Administration. We have now moved to selling our Husky Wear at the front desk, but we are looking for a parent volunteer who can track sales, manage inventory (place new orders), and manage the money we make. The sale of these items is one of the several vehicles the school has to raise funds.

Fundraising at Summit Prep Our Annual Giving Campaign, which launched in October, is off to a great start. We have about 10% of families participating and are at 24% of our financial goal. You should have all received a letter, with a self addressed envelope. Any questions about how your funds will benefit the school, students, and faculty can be addressed to: spotsummit@gmail.com. This year, we are working hard at looking for additional sources of donation and have a great team working on corporate donors (Barbara Pedersen and Stacy Guthmann). Shop and Earn Cash for Summit! Just in time for holiday shopping, we have enabled our Summit parent website to earn cash for our school as you (and your friend and family) shop at Amazon. To do this, you must initiate from our website: http://www.summitspot.org/ - and click on the Amazon button. The rest is easy!

Typhoon Aid - The largest TV station in the Philippines has an office here in Redwood City (ABS-CBN) and they are asking for donations of baby diapers, baby formula, clean underwear of all sizes and over-the-counter skin care medications (e.g. Neosporin antibiotic and Anti-itch, caladryl) to send to the Philippines to help the victims of Typhoon Haiyan.
Please bring your donations and leave them in the box at the front desk at the school. On behalf of all the Filipino families at Summit we thank you for your help.

Applications for most UC and CSU campuses close on November 30, and once they are closed, they will not reopen. This is a very firm deadline. For those qualifying for the EOP programs at UC and CSU campuses, submitting the application early gives you time to complete your accompanying EOP applications by November 30. (You have to submit the first application in order to start the second.) If you have any questions, please contact your student's mentor. Thanks!
