Message from the Executive Director, Penelope Pak

PAWPRINT Greetings Husky Families!  We have some exciting announcements for this week:

"Teaching and Learning" Tours for current families

We will be scheduling opportunities for current parents to come observe our classes and see how our enhanced academic program supports our mission to prepare all students for success in college, career, and life.  Parents will have an opportunity to see how our teachers support student learning in class, and how our students are learning content, developing cognitive skills, and habits of success. Each tour will be followed by an observation debrief and Q&A session.  Please stay tuned for an announcement regarding specific dates and times.

Want to learn more about the Summit model?

Many of our community members have requested additional information regarding the Summit Next Generation school model.  We have created a content "playlist," which provides a variety of resources detailing our program.  If you are interested in learning more about how our enhanced model supports our mission to prepare all students for success in college, career, and life, we encourage you to visit this "playlist" at the following link: http://bit.ly/15Vq4Ai.

Student Directory now available!

A big shout out to Jackie Kubicka, Candace Kelley, and Stacy Guthmann, for creating our student directory!  Paper copies are available at our front desk so please feel free to pick one up anytime.

Come support our Husky Athletes!

Our Girls Volleyball teams are having a great season and we'd love to have our entire community attend their next game this Tuesday at Kehillah Jewish School in Palo Alto, starting at 4 p.m.  Our Boys Soccer team will play Everest this Wednesday at Marlin Park in Redwood City, starting at 3:30 p.m.  We would love to see everyone come out to these two exciting events!

Summit Supply Wish Lists

Many parents who are unable to help volunteer at Summit often ask if they can support our teachers in a different way.  If you are looking for a way to contribute to your student's grade, here are the lists of supplies that our teachers need by grade level and one for general supplies.  By purchasing an item on these lists, you are helping Summit by allowing money for supplies to be spent on other necessities.

Many of these items are easy enough to pick up during a routine shopping trip, so please keep it in mind.  If you purchase any item, please have your student deliver it to Karen Zamora, and make sure to mark which grade to which you are donating the item.  If you have questions about supplies to be donated, please contact Ms. Giamoni at pgiamoni@summitprep.net.

PAWPRINT College Visits - Every year, Summit Prep works very hard to arrange visits to our high school from a wide variety of colleges.  This is the peak season for these visits.  It's usually appropriate for Juniors and Seniors to attend these meetings which are typically at lunch or directly after school.  Please visit this site: http://college.summitps.org/college-visits or log in to your child's Naviance account for a listing of schools and dates.
