Thanks to everyone who volunteered for the San Jose game! Volleyball had 7 volunteers, Basketball had 3 and Soccer had 1 volunteer. Two supported all Sports. Everyone worked very hard and we certainly earned it due to the high volume of sales. Even better, Stanford won! Our next game is this Saturday, September 21 when Stanford plays Arizona. Please support Summit Sports and volunteer today! Please do not volunteer if you cannot commit to staying for the entire time of the event. This allows for enough people to rotate for breaks. All student athletes are asked to volunteer at 2 events. Thank you! Follow this link to sign up: http://bit.ly/1672c9m.

Have you ever wanted to build your own computer? Now you can! Students ages 12 to 15 are invited to a free event at the Computer History Museum on September 28 from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., to see some of the earliest computers and then build and program one themselves. Using a high-tech kit called Kano and a do-it-yourself computer called the Raspberry Pi, mentors will teach students how to use code to connect the Pi to the Internet to listen to music, watch videos, play Minecraft, and use Scratch, Codeacademy, and more.
Lunch will be included for the participants, and parents will have free admission to the Museum while their kids are participating in the event. Children 12 years and younger always receive free admission. Find out more about the Computer History Museum at www.computerhistory.org, and about Kano at kano.me. Register for the event by contacting Poppy Haralson, pharalson@computerhistory.org. Sign up early--space is limited.

Come hear from the experts! Don't miss Robin Mamlet and Christine VanDeVelde, co-authors of College Admission: From Application to Acceptance, Step by Step! College Admission is the ultimate user's manual and go-to guide for any student or family approaching the college application process. Let's be honest: applying to college can be stressful for students and parents. But here's the good news: students have many great college options. Robin Mamlet has been dean of admission at Stanford University, Swarthmore, and Sarah Lawrence, and journalist and parent Christine VanDeVelde has been through the process firsthand as the parent of a college applicant.
Sign up now - tickets will go quickly! Parents and students welcome. This event is free and sponsored by the M-A PTA and the Sequoia Healthcare District. Refreshments from 6:30 - 7 p.m. in the PAC Foyer. Simultaneous Spanish interpretation will be offered.
