Winter Prep
By Becky Clegg

What type of activities do you do around your home to prepare for winter? Last week my hubby worked to get our gas fireplace ready to use. Our two doxies were particularly interested when he was testing to make sure the blowers were working properly. Our oldest dachshund, Obie, absolutely loves the fireplace and hogs the dog bed in front of the fireplace once the heat blower comes on. His fur becomes very toasty when he lays there for a time absorbing the heat. Sometimes I think he might burst into flames because he gets so hot. Ken also does daily raking of leaves which will continue for several weeks. My husband is obsessed with daily raking so I let him have his fun. I'm not a fanatic about it so I stay out of his way.  ... Read More

Sunday School ARKade Lunch at Rogers

The 3rd - 5th graders have been busy this fall memorizing Bible Verses and solving mysteries on Sunday mornings in the Sunday School ARKade. The children add stickers to their S.S. ARKade Passport each week and when they fill a passport page with nine stickers, they may choose either a Beany Baby to take home and keep or they can go to lunch at Rogers. Several children have already filled a page with stickers.

Seven children have competed an entire passport page of stickers and a few are close to completing their 2nd page. Several more children only need one or two more stickers to complete a passport page and one girl has completed THREE passport pages of stickers!!!

Those who have chosen lunch at Rogers as their reward will be going after the 2nd service this Sunday November 1st (the rain alternative will be pizza and root beer floats at the church).
Don't Forget to Fall Back!

This Sunday is the time change. Enjoy your extra sleep!

The First Five class for 1st & 2nd graders previously only offered at 9:00 is now also offered at 11:00. This class introduces young children to the Bible, book by book. One year focuses on the Old Testament; the next year on the New Testament. The curriculum concentrates on the first five books of each Testament with a brief over view of the remaining books. Mission Partner Spotlight

Niņos con Valor

Tyson Malo from Niņos con Valor came and spoke last Sunday at church. Many people asked how they could help with this important ministry to children in Bolivia. Here is a link to their website where you can find the answer to that question and learn more about what they do. And remember, the church is planning on sending a team down there next year, so if you are interested be sure to watch for more information about how you can become involved.
