Hello friends!

I don't know about you, but this weather makes me feel like fall is really in the air. It's been gorgeous here in NYC (if not a bit chilly) most days this past week, which made it ideal weather for my power walks. Hope you've made some time to stay active and fit outside in the last 7 days!

After a terrific trip to Houston for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics' annual Food and Nutrition Conference (during which I presented on breaking into book writing for many wonderful colleagues), I got back to NYC just in time to be a judge as part the Better it with Benefiber campaign*. It was such a fun event, and I enjoyed sharing the benefits of consuming a fiber-rich diet and tasting three chefs' delicious breakfast creations (each made with Benefiber) alongside Top Chef All Star winner Richard Blais and Krista Rodriguez (a star of Smash and Broadway's First Date--shown with me in photo below). Congrats to the cook-off winner, cookbook author and blogger Carrie Farrias!

Below you'll find some Halloween tips, learn more about my favorite plant-powered meals, and get tips if you're expecting (a baby, that is).

Hope you all have a great week ahead. PLEASE make time to care for and nurture yourself. If you don't take care of you, no one will!

Until next time,

Elisa

P.S. If you like my weekly updates, feel free to pass it on!

*I am a paid spokesperson for Benefiber through December 31, 2013.
