Hello friends,

Hope you all had a wonderful March! Spring is here (notice the green?!) and I hope you're taking full advantage of some sunshine and warmer temperatures, though winter hasn't left many parts of the country just yet. Getting outside and enjoying some fresh air is a great recipe not only for fitting in fitness, but for boosting your mood and helping you get over your winter slump. Check out the view from my 5.2 mile walk this morning below.

The Reservoir at Central Park, 8:15 AM, Monday April 8th, 2013

In this month's ZIED GUIDE, you'll find my One Day Diet, a blog I wrote on the Mediterranean way of eating and some great recipes. You'll also find my response to a question from a
Parents magazine reader, and learn about some of my upcoming TV appearances.

I'm thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity for one lucky gal who is 35-45 who lives in or around the New York area. If you're comfortable on camera and would like to be considered to be featured in a pilot for my new TV/web show, shoot me an email at elisa@elisazied.com. Send a photo of yourself and tell me in one paragraph why you need a Stressipe makeover. Is life making you feel stressed, and is that stress having a negative impact on your food, fitness and lifestyle behaviors? If so, you may win the chance to be interviewed by me on camera some time in early May and get some of my Stressipes to help you get back on track. If you'd like to be considered for this opportunity, please send me an email no later than April 25th, 2013. I look forward to hearing from you!

As always, I love hearing from you! So please stay in touch via Twitter or Facebook.

Until next time,

Elisa

About Me

I'm a registered dietitian/nutritionist, author, freelance writer, and speaker based in New York City. I'm a four-time author (my next book iwill be published by Harlequin Non Fiction in March 2014) and Parents Magazine Advisor, and write for NBCNews.com, US News & World Report's Eat + Run blog and CalorieCount.com. I live in Manhattan with my two sons, Spencer, 14, and Eli, 10 and my husband of 19 years, Brian. I feel very fortunate to have a career I'm extremely passionate about and to share what I learn with consumers in a variety of ways.

Each and every day, I try to infuse my passion for living a healthful, balanced and enjoyable life into my work. My goal is to feel empowered and to empower others--a working woman with three kids, a new mom, a stay-at-home mom, an empty nester, children, and teens, and families--to take steps to create their own nutritious and active lives.

Through my books, articles, blogs, television and video segments, print and online interviews, speaking engagements, and spokesperson work, my goal has always been to translate information garnered from often times confusing scientific studies on food, nutrition, diet, fitness and health into practical, real world solutions consumers can apply and integrate into their own lives. I constantly read and stay in the loop about topics that resonate with consumers, and do my best to provide accurate, science-based information that makes sense so that consumers feel empowered to then take action to better their food and fitness habits to feel physically and mentally fit and optimize their health.
