Greetings!

I think for many this summer has breezed through and we are getting ready for Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas. REALLY!!! Where did this year go?

For me this summer will be etched in my life forever.

The year started with the exciting news of closing the lease for the Blossom Hill studio. We opened our doors to the new studio in early May. I now know what it is to have two kids but the good news for me is that I can lock both studios, go home and sit with a glass of wine. Moms with real kids may not be able to do this ;-)

In June I had my nephew come from Dubai - now that was an experience of having a teenager over. Ron and I enjoyed his presence in our lives. And then the moment I had been waiting for - my sister, Sujata's arrival. As she came she brought so much joy and delicious cooking with her. It was our time to bond which we had not done in years so we spent time chatting, laughing, cooking, cleaning and creating my most precious temple/meditation section. I will never forget my time with her.

In all the fun and frolic, one forgets that there can be a bad time that can breeze by too. One evening in August, suddenly, we got the news of my father's demise. I was fortunate to have my sister next to me. Those who have gone through loosing a parent know that at such a time, no one but your own sibling can understand your feelings. That is what my sister and I did for each other.

I am back from India after letting go of my father who was my best friend of 47 years. He was my guide, my mentor, my friend and most of all an amazing father. He is the one who got me into yoga as a little girl and exposed me to art, music and culture from around the world. He will be missed at every moment of my life.

With all this in my personal life, the Almaden Yoga community has stood by me like a rock and I am most grateful to all of you. Our instructors, front desk and above all, you, have stood by me during a very challenging time. It has meant a lot to me. Gratitude and Thank You.
