Health Remedy

 ASTHMA

Figs give comfort to the patient by draining off the phlegm. Soak 3-4 dried figs in 1 cup of water overnight and eat the first thing in the morning. Drink the water also.

Chew a piece of ginger throughout the day to relieve asthma, cough, cold and sore throats.

Beauty Remedy

Anuja swears by this -

Flat dark beer works amazing with all hair types. After shampoo and conditioner rinse hair and pour a little dark beer
in your hair and keep for a minute or two. Use depending on the length of hair. Wash with water after; no need to shampoo again.

Try our Yogic Living Ayurvedic herbal products from the studio.

Awesome face masks all tried and used by Anuja and many Almaden yoginis.

Birth to crawling

Babies are so curious about the world around them and need lots of loving touch and stimulation to learn and grow.  Parents with new little ones need a place to relieve stress and get back in their bodies. Come enjoy some time to reconnect with friends and bond with your baby in this playful class.  We will stretch, sing, dance and chat our way back to bliss.  Bring a blanket for your baby and if you have a boppy pillow (or something like it) your baby will thank you!

This class is taught by ALLISON BIRDSALL.

Allison began to teach prenatal yoga in 2009 after studying Whole Birth Yoga with Robin Sale in Santa Cruz and Prenatal Yoga with Mark Stephens.  She helps pregnant mothers prepare their bodies for birth by leading discussions and sharing breath, relaxation, and mindfulness techniques - including asana. Allison has worked closely with Julianne Rice and assisted her classes and then apprenticed under her.

Come and try this class with your bundle of joy!
Teacher Changes

Many of you know that Elena decided to take a break due to her long commute to Almaden Yoga. Her Friday 9:30 AM class is being taught by Sarah. Sarah's style is uniquely her own and you will be glad  you showed up.

Please welcome Nazanine Mousavi to the Almaden Yoga family.
Starting October 3rd, Nazanine will teach the Wednesday 4 PM Hatha class. You have to try her class to feel her warmth and love for yoga.

Yoga Instructor Feedback

We now have Instructor Feedback forms at the front desk to enable you to give your feedback on any instructor at any time. Feel free to request the same at the front desk and use it to tell us what you think about any instructor at the studio at any time. Your input is what helps us improve!
Yoga Etiquette - BE ON TIME FOR CLASS

The Almaden Yoga front desk allows 10 minutes grace but it is a good habit to be a few minutes early to class. It allows you to find a good spot, meet your community and even chat with your teacher. You can use this time to let the instructor know of any issues you may have that need to be taken care during your yoga practice. Maybe spend a few minutes in silence allowing yourself to get focused for the class.

The front desk will not allow anyone - no exceptions - to enter the class after 10 minutes have passed.
