Health Remedy

 

Sudden Cough - If you get sudden fits of cough take a whole clove and suck it without chewing it.

Irritation in the throat - Gargle 3 times a day with a glass of hot water and 1 tsp of Salt.

 

Beauty Remedy

 

For Hydrated Skin- Mix Almond oil and honey with a little yogurt to make a paste. Apply on your face, let it dry and wash off after 15 minutes.

Its already spring and the flowers have begun to bloom. 2012, so far, has been busy at Almaden Yoga.

 

The year started off with the 30/21-day challenge which was a lot of fun. Yes, some of us wanted to finish first, while some of us just wanted to make it to the finish. We all did our best! Congratulations to all that completed it and thanks to all who participated and made it so much fun.

 

Next came the studio's second birthday and what an overwhelming show of love from all of you. Ron, myself and all our teachers and staff are most grateful. We are thankful to be part of such a beautiful yoga community.

 

Then, we added 5 new classes to the schedule. We now have 37 classes per week. Two new teachers have also been added to the Almaden Yoga family.

 

As of last week, we upgraded the retail section, Yogic Living, at the studio to feature new lines of clothing and products. We hope you'll enjoy them.

 

Every month this year, we plan to introduce you to a new yoga variation - a Monthly Special. If it resonates with you then we will consider adding it to the class schedule. This monthly special will happen on Fridays at 4pm.

 

For the month of February, we introduced you to Kundalini Yoga with Amy Swart.

 

From March 16th to April 13th, Fridays at 4 PM, features a Yin-Yang class with Kathleen.. Try it and give us your thoughts.

 

Our annual survey will come out shortly. Its an opportunity for you to let us know what you really think about the studio, the front desk, our teachers, classes and more. Your feedback really helps!

Monthly Special - Yin/Yang Yoga
Fridays 4 PM
 

 

Yin-Yang Yoga with Kathleen Callan

Balance your Yang physical practice with Yin Yoga.

 

In this practice, we will address the development of core strength and muscle mobility, by moving through repetitive movements like Sun Salutations (Surya Namaskar) to increase the fluid content in the tissues and develop an alert focus on Ujjayi breathing. Next, we will focus on increasing the elasticity of the myofascial tissue, with longer held stretches, thereby, increasing flexibility, boosting the immune system, calming the nervous system, and regulating hormones. Our practice will conclude in meditation.

This class is the perfect complement to all of styles of your yogic practice, and is intended for all levels. Whether you are a beginning yogi, or an expert practitioner, this class is just right to bring you into balance from a busy week, and get you inspired for the coming week-end.

Yoga Etiquette- Beep of the Month

 

Please switch off your mobile phones and please leave them in the cubbies in the studio lobby. Everyone in class (including you!) showed up to get some peace of mind.
Subscription Membership Policies

 

For those with a monthly subscription membership at the studio, here's a quick recap for you:

 

  • Your subscription membership month starts on the day of the month that you request the front desk to start your monthly subscription. It does not start on the first of every month.
  • Classes do not get rolled-over in monthly subscription. So, if for any reason you cannot use all your subscription classes in a particular month, those classes cannot be redeemed later.
  • If you're enjoying yourself so much that you go over the subscribed number of classes within a particular month, you can either pay a drop-in fee for those extra classes or you can request the front desk to upgrade you to a higher subscription level starting the next cycle and prorate your membership accordingly.
  • Please do give us 30-days notice to change or stop your monthly subscription.

We now have Instructor Feedback forms at the front desk to enable you to give your feedback on any instructor at any time. Feel free to request the same at the front desk and use it to tell us what you think about any instructor at the studio at any time. Your input is what helps us improve!
