More Medicine Yoga and QiGong

with our best Barbara

Starting August 1st two additional classes have been added  to the schedule

Tuesdays : 11 AM - Qi Gong

Qigong is the art and science of using breath, posture, and movement to cleanse, refine, accumulate and circulate Qi (energy or lifeforce) in the body. Through the cultivation and regulation of the body, mind, and breath, our adaptability to the external
environment is strengthened, emotional well-being is strengthened and overall quality of life is improved. Taijiquan (literally Supreme Ultimate Boxing) is one of the most famous forms of qigong and is sometimes referred to as medication in motion or shadow boxing.

In this class, we will learn and practice the fundamentals of qigong and taiqi, including breathing, posture, rooting, exercises for the main organ systems, and meditation.

Fridays : 11:00 AM - Medicine Yoga

You asked for it and Barbara gratefully agreed!

Nancy Wolf

  Nancy W

My name is Nancy Wolf- I've been married to my best friend, Bill Storer for 31 years.

Alex and Adam are 27 and 21 years old. Alex is a research scientist who lives in Boston. Adam is studying political economy at Berkeley.

I have been working with children of all ages, preschool through high school since 1980, as a school psychologist. I totally love my job, especially during summer vacation.

On my list of things to do, is to open up a private practice. But, now that I spend all my spare time at yoga, there is no time for this endeavor.

Almaden yoga has changed my life! I look forward each day to seeing my yoga buddies, and combining the physical workout with all the spiritual aspects of yoga.

My favorite yoga pose is Half Moon which I find very freeing.

Yoga has provided me with a calmness and stillness that has helped me handle challenges better these days. All that deep breathing really helps!

When I am not at yoga, I love to read ( favorites this year have included Cutting for Stone, The Good Earth and now, I am reading Gone with the Wind and maybe someday I will finish it- its really long).

I love movies and quirky TV series, like Flight of the Concords, Arrested Development, and True Blood. I also like to hike and run in the gorgeous trails where we live. I love to eat good food and drink red wine. A restaurant I'd like to try is Cin Cin in Los Gatos.
