Song of the Week: NASHVILLE Barbershop Style
This is NASHVILLE: Barbershop Style - a collection of eight country songs arranged in the barbershop style that will get your toes tappin', feet stompin', and voices ringin'! From beloved ballads to fast-paced, up-tempo tunes, this folio is the perfect resource for adding a little country flair to your quartet or chorus show... or performing the entire collection as a complete set of country favorites!
Part-specific learning tracks have been created along with a separate full-mix listening recording to help learn the songs quickly and accurately.
Included in the collection is Aaron Dale's rollicking arrangement of "I Am a Man of Constant Sorrow" from the Oscar-winning film O Brother, Where Art Thou?. Get a preview from the 2016 Harmony University NextGen chorus!

COME ONE, COME ALL!
YBQC: More quartets from more schools
That first chord.. that first moment looking at each other with amazement, realizing that the ringing, beautiful sound of barbershop harmony created by singing together -- ah, friends, what is finer than that moment?
Spread the word! The first quarter of the school year is when many school choir directors are planning that first concert, a holiday show, and helping students organize ensembles for state contests. -
Look for local shows, YouTube videos, and social connections to youth quartets, and let them know that music they are already performing could be a ticket to Las Vegas next summer.
- Support local music programs with sheet music, music educator guides, and scholarships.
- Invite a youth quartet to your chapter meeting, show, or District event... and give them a place to sing!

READ ALL ABOUT IT
House of Delegates Bulletin-Fall 2016 now online!
Even a passing glance at what's happened in the Barbershop Harmony Society over the past few months tells you that something transformative is taking place.
A course we've been travelling the past few years with the guidance of the Society Board and the active participation of staff, District leadership, and thousands of committed Barbershoppers, is infusing an attitude of success and creativity that empowers everyone to do more, more effectively - and even more joyfully.
It's up to each of us as chapter leaders, as district leaders, as key influencers, to take advantage of the opportunities we create together. You can do all these things, to make your chapter program more relevant to your members, to make your chapter more relevant to your communities. It's where we find our joy: in singing, in friendships, in joining together and making a difference in people's lives.
