BACK IN THE DAY From the Vault: 1960 Member Benefit Program record In 1960, SPEBSQSA was proposing some Society-wide changes. In order to inform all of its members, however, they couldn't just e-mail everyone or post a video. They had the Harmonizer but they needed more coverage. So, in 1960, what do you do? Cut a record, of course!
Rupert Hall, a song from the Evans Quartet, the Chordsmen and a few others are featured on the album in an effort to inform Society members of upcoming changes. It's a little fun slice of Society history... Enjoy!

YOU HAVE ENTERED... THE TAG ZONE
Calling all Tagmasters: GET IN THE ZONE
We guess about 50% of our members do not sing tags, or believe it's too difficult or not for them! It's wildly intimidating for new tag singers to start and try that first tag... especially in a sea of thousands of people who seem like experts Think about any international lobby on Saturday night. It can be tough to break in...
So this year, we are adding TAG ZONES! The concept? Put great tag teachers where other tag singers will already be singing. We will have big signs around to invite new people to join in and find you! You may have 3 people at first, but it will likely grow to 10 or 20....or 70.

HE *IS* A JOLLY GOOD FELLOW
E-card from Jacquie Lawson features quartet!
From the designer:
The musical accompaniment for our new Father's Day card was a forgone conclusion: it had to be a barbershop quartet. Thanks to a recommendation from my friend Pippa, we got in touch with Tagline Quartet, winners of the British Association of Barbershop Singers national contest in 2015. And after a few hours one Sunday morning in a tiny London studio, we had a fabulous recording in the can.
The music is an arrangement of "For He's a Jolly Good Fellow", with some silly lyrics written specially for the card. Words that rhyme with "fellow" are a little thin on the ground so we took a few liberties! But I also had to mug up on the somewhat esoteric technicalities of barbershop style: I hope I gave them enough of those ringing sevenths.
